late again

Looks like I've been a bit tardy with my update...my apologies as I know you have all been waiting patiently for the next chapter of the ongoing sage which is my life. Let's start where we last left our intrepid hero...shortly after lavigne's visit the next important date circled on the calendar was my dearests' birthday. The plan: warm-up drinks @ ours and then Luxy for ladies' night. Before that was to happen, yours truly had much to do in the way of preparations. Par for the course, I left the birthday shopping to the 11th hour, so I had the distinct pleasure of running 'round Ximending with gaggles of teenage gals&guys from the surrounding junior high schools. Nonetheless, I finished my shopping in record time and was still able to squeeze in a quick nap before my beloved arrived hence. At 9 bells, she was home and shortly after so did party-goers and well-wishers. Moved the party to Luxy around 12:00 to find it packed, and I mean packed. Managed to finagle a table for the crew using nothing more than my good-looks, limited Chinese abilities and my boyish charm. Met some nice chinese people and shared their bottle of Jagermeister with them for good measure. At 3 bells, decided it was time to leave and stood up for the first time in a few hours...that's the last i remember which tells me that I was drunker than the birthday girl...so much for sensible drinking...at least i wasn't the one who puked "a little" in the ladies' eh, leesh?

After the nights' festivities, the rest of the week passed without much consequence....the weekend was a quiet one for the most part as we were all feeling a little "clubbed out." Sunday, went for some Indian buffett with Gus & Gavin which was greatly filling. Then, went to a microbrewery to sample the local beer when we received a call to help move some stuff to Anita's new pad. Obliged to help, we ended up hanging out @ her suave, rooftop joint for sunday night beers and pizza. Can't wait for that housewarming party Neets, so hurry up!

This week's been a very busy one at work...been getting ready for the parent's day performance this Saturday...i've been quite the taskmaster, cracking the whip to get the results out of my students...don't know if they're ready for the big day, but it's tomorrow so ready or not i s'pose...i hate working on Saturday's, but it's only for an hour and half and then the weekend is mine so I plan on having beer in hand by 12:30 or so to celebrate a job well done, or at least, a job well-finished.

Had a little more stress to add to the equation as my 60-day point on my VISA came up this week...not wanting to take any time off from work, i booked a late night flight to Hong Kong, returning on the next flight out which was only an hour later....nervous about getting back into Taiwan, I pretty much held my breath until I was safely through immigration and back on Taiwanese soil once again...sigh, the moral of the story is to get my ass in gear and get the proper work documents in place so i don't have a mild heartattack whenever i have to do this.

Well folks, it's taken me just over 2 hours and 4 beers to write this, so i best go and have another before i get ready for tomorrow...got to be nice and hungover for tomorrow so i can show them my best....until next time, peace, love and hair grease.
