this shit is bananas

thought it wouldn't come, but i've made it thru my first, full week of teaching @ my new school, concluding my last week and a half of 'firsts.' first days of meeting new students and staff, first teachers' meetings, first time handing in oodles of lesson plans (i have to plan for 7 classes), first time discipline problems and many other firsts too numerous to list. all things considered it's been cool...having said that my favourite moment of the week was today @ 3:25pm...why? the longest possible time between me and teaching my "K" classes again....the feeling? elation.

i've said it before but i never stopped to consider how easy it was for me the last year working p/t and tutoring to fill in the gaps. this working full time is for the birds. i think my ideal working situation from both a financial and state-of-mental-health standpoint is 30 hours. think about how many problems it would solve....if everyone worked 30 hours, there would be more leisure time available, encouraging people to spend it with friends and family, decreasing social problems and reinforcing the family unit, or pursuing other interests, broadening our minds. not too mention the creation of jobs...every industry would be affected, they would suddenly have more room at the inn...going as far as possibly ending or at significantly decreasing unemployment rates to the barest minimums. of course, there would be drastic changes to our economy as people would have less money, but i'm prepared to live with it. maybe i'm just being a lazy, unmotived shit. well, call me lazy, call me unmotivated just don't ever call me late to dinner.

SUPPLEMENTAL: what's with the comment spam? anyone thinking of posting a "comment" that is really just an advertisement in disguise kindly f-off...:)

hey ryan if you turn on 'word verification' it makes it harder for them to spam you so readily. my new [old] blog is at http://privatedamage9.blogspot.com i actually had a stalker from a northern state in australia, will post about that soon.

congrats on finishing the first week. i think we should aim towards 20 hours a week and get paid twice as much. ;)
