more pictures if you please

i was just checking out my photo site and it has been a while since, or anyone else, has updated it. it's not due to lack of equipment. i'm kitted out with the sony t7 which can go anywhere i can and more, but simply that i haven't been doing too much lately to necessitate the taking of pictures. sure, i've taken the odd photo of a friend and maybe a few other things but none too much.

digital cameras have become the saviour and the destroyer of photography. the saviour in that now anyone can take alright pictures with their cameras and be able to edit out imperfections missed whilst taking, with the click of a button. a masterpiece everytime. whereas using regular, analog photography still requires an artistry. the photographer must check the lighting conditions carefully for the best colours to come out on film. he or she must frame the shot in their mind, taking into account what he saw a moment ago, before fiddling with minute adjustments and such. plus, there was always the anticipation of waiting to get your photos back from developing so you check 'em out. might sound tedious to some, sounds magical to me. that said...

i love my camera. i have loved all my cameras. i love the ability to press a button and record an image of something in perpetuity. i loved looking @ photographs too. i like to think there are other people out there who have caught the shutterbug, so to you i have a proposal. i want you most up-to-date photograph that you've got of yourself, or what you consider to be your best photo of yourself, taken with the last year. in return, i will send you an updated pic taken the day you send me your pic, so it will be completely original...just send your pic to this email account....pretty cool, huh? hopefully everybody can join in.

so get those cameras out, ok?
