back in the game

that's right, ladies and gents, i'm once again back the in the game thanks to the highly-waited for and greatly appreciated paycheque. (insert sigh of relief here.) i must confess it is fanfukintastic to be back in the drivers' seat of life, although i do think it's a bit scary money has this much affect on my state of mind...hey, money might not buy you happiness, but it sure can buy a helluva lot of good times...:) Shit, that sounds pretty shallow...

now that things are back to normal, allow me to share with you what yours truly has been up to now that he is a contributing member of society (at least in an economic sense). tuesday was the big day, so immediately following work i headed to shilin night market to pick some summer attire...didn't go overboard, but was feeling pleased about things so made some plans to go out on wednesday night. the plan: luxy for ladies' night until the wee hours and then take thursday off work. didn't work out exactly as planned...my boss asked me to cover for another teacher for thursday and friday, so i figured i'd best get my ass into work on thursday...the plan was amended to be an early night of sensible drinking...gus and i settle in @ 45 for some pitchers aplenty and quiet conversation. but you know what they say about the best laid plans, they go to wasted or something like that...anyway, after two pitchers of carlsberg we found ourselves in a taxi, spiriting us away to luxy after all, hoping to find a cheaper entry fee. no dice, so we whittled away the next hour or two chattin up random people who were hanging outside the club. all in all, a good night but way past this guy's bedtime on a school night as i thought to myself whilst walking through my front door @ 4:30...you can imagine how tired i was feeling @ work the next day.

Friday was working late so came home afterwards to watch my newly-purchased, pirate copy of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy...my rating is 8 out of 10...very humourous in a monty python way which really hit the spot. saturday was the usual...get up, clean, chat, lunch. went for some afternoon beers with corey and anita on the rooftop which was cool...got the chance to catch up with corey whom i haven't seen in a while...later, caught up with the rest o' the cats for some microbrewery madness at this beer garden. everyone seemed keen to start the night there then head out somewhere's else, but no one could make the decision so just ended up getting pretty pissed up...around 1:00, got out of there and still wanting to do something, we sat out front drinking gutter beers until finally our stomachs got the best of us...went to swensons, then called it a night.

Today, got up, watched hitchhikers again (it's that good) the went to see fantastic 4 which was both a fantastic disappointment and a fantastic waste of time. had a quick chat with the 'rents and now i'm typing this...seems like a lot, but it wasn't much really.

looking forward, this is our last week of regular teaching so looking forward to the new summer hours and curriculum. also, only have a month or so before holidays...still planning on vietnam, but are only going to go for a week.
