the love affair continues...

had one of those nights this past saturday when everything and everyone you're with are just, well perfect. the weather was stellar. it's been 25 and sunshine since last thursday so right away a key ingredient in the recipe of a good night. gus had 2 friends from australia visiting since new year and we wanted to give them a proper send off. headed out for some greek fare @ mykonos which was tasty, then off to a new lounge called sappho to check it out. the vibe wasn't what we were looking for, so after a few inquiries and eventual purchase of party favours, we booked it back to our house to see where the night would take us. sitting down, awaiting the impending surge of energy that was to be ours, we decided on a change of venue and walked to CKS memorial hall to chill. i'm sure i've mentioned it before, but if i haven't it's an impressive, national monunment a mere 2 blocks from my house. as we sat there chatting, drinking, philosophizing, i took a look from the top and couldn't help but be impressed. it was awesome. i mean, just look at this....5a.m. and here we are with the whole place to ourselves in a foreign country, having the time of our lives. it seriously made me appreciate where i am and what i'm doing and with that brief epiphany. i know i'm still doing the right thing by continuing to live, work and love here. sometimes all we need to make ourselves remember how good a life we have is to take a look at what we've already got. great job, great friends and living in dynamic surroundings. sure puts a smile on my face:)

That's wonderful Ryan...I had a similar experience this weekend. Panorama Ski hill got close to a metre of powder this week. I was Snowboarding in waste deep powder...screaming happily as loud as I could, loving everything, and thinking...this is why I'm here...Perfect!
